Yupp, Wayne. One bot today.
Handoff Bot. Type /handoff before you stop. Next time, Claude starts where you left off.
What you'll paste
4 short parts. Read each one first.
1. The limit
Set up one helper in this project. Only create or change the two files named below. Don't touch anything else.
Tells Claude exactly how far it may go. Your site files stay as they are.
2. The /handoff shortcut
Create the file .claude/commands/handoff.md with this text: Write HANDOFF.md for my next session, replacing the old one: what we did today, the next 1–3 things to do, and anything I'm stuck on. Under 15 lines, plain English.
Any file in .claude/commands becomes a command you can type. After this, /handoff makes Claude write a short note called HANDOFF.md: where you are and what's next.
3. The reminder
Add this line to CLAUDE.md (create the file if it doesn't exist): At the start of every session, read HANDOFF.md and tell me in two lines where we left off.
Claude Code reads CLAUDE.md every time it starts. This line makes it read your note first and tell you where you left off.
4. The check
Tell me in one sentence what you set up.
So you can see it did only that.
What changes: 2 small text files in your LasVegas.wiki folder: .claude/commands/handoff.md and CLAUDE.md. Nothing is uploaded and your site doesn't change.
Undo: delete those two files.
Permission: Claude Code asks before it creates each file. Check that it's one of these two, then say yes.
Do it
- Open Claude Code in your LasVegas.wiki folder.
- then paste them in and press Enter.
- Work a little, then type
/handoff. Close Claude Code and open it again.
Done when: Claude tells you where you left off, without you asking.
Tomorrow: Save Point Bot. Say "go back" and Claude undoes a mistake. 12 days to launch.
